Caden enlisted the Brown Elementary National Elementary Honor Society students to collect 350 toiletry and personal care items. The group filled 50 bags for distribution by the Meals on Wheels Association of Whitehouse. The Meals on Wheels recipients received toiletries that they were unable to afford themselves.
Caden said, "Even though my project had its ups and downs, in the end I felt really good that we had helped the Whitehouse community."
Nicole Moore, NEHS sponsor said, "Caden showed strong leadership skills when he brought his service project idea to me. He had things well thought out and was willing to adjust his ideas as we discussed the options. The end result was amazing for everyone involved."
Caden received this award from Education in Action after he was nominated for and completed a week long Lonestar Leadership Academy camp in the summer of 2014. After the camp, students were encouraged to continue their leadership skills at their school.
