Whitehouse Sweeps District 16-5A Track Meet

The Wildcats won the boys title with 136 points while the Lions finished with 129 points and the Panthers took third with 123. Other teams were Nacogdoches (100), Lindale (66), Corsicana (39) and Jacksonville (27).

In the girls division, Whitehouse finished with 157 points, followed by Lindale with 140 points. Other teams were Jacksonville (125), Lufkin (69), John Tyler (46), Nacogdoches (39) and Corsicana (38).

Moran Confirmed as WISD Superintendent

Members of the Whitehouse Independent School District Board of Trustees officially named Dr. Christopher Moran as the new Superintendent of Schools during Tuesday’s regular board meeting. Moran will begin his role as Superintendent of Schools for WISD on April 18, 2016.

WHS First Ladies Earn Top Awards at Competition

The First Ladies competed on Saturday, March 19 in the American Dance/Drill Team National Championship held at the University of North Texas. Over 100 teams attending the event, including 4 teams from Japan. The First Ladies earned the International and National Championship awards for their team novelty routine.

GT Nominations

Whitehouse ISD is accepting nominations for assessment of giftedness in students in Grades 1-5 who show high academic potential. Anyone can nominate a student for assessment including parents, other relatives, guardians, and school personnel. Nomination forms can be requested from your child’s classroom teacher or counselor. Additional testing will be needed to determine the child’s educational needs. Parents must provide permission to administer ability and achievement tests and must also complete a questionnaire. All forms are due to the school counselor by Friday, April 8, 2016.

Whitehouse First Ladies Earn Top Awards at DFW State Championship

The First Ladies Drill Team represented Whitehouse ISD this past Saturday at the Dallas Fort Worth State Championship in Duncanville. The First Ladies competed in the large team division with many other schools from across the state. They were awarded Best in Class - Large Team, Second Place Best of the Best School out of 51 schools in attendance and First Runner-Up Academic Champions with an overall GPA of 3.7. Way to go, First Ladies!
