Whitehouse Wildcats Bring Home Gold From Austin
WHITEHOUSE, TX - The UIL Academic Team at Whitehouse High School has added some more trophies to their collection after an impressive finish at the UIL State Academic meet in Austin last Monday and Tuesday.
BROWN ELEMENTARY VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
On Friday, November 9th Brown Elementary held our 5th annual Veterans Day Program. The Cub Scouts began the special program with the Presentation of Colors. A slide show was presented during the program featuring Veteran family members and friends of Brown Elementary. “America” was played by 5th grade student Nick Nero on his trumpet. Beautiful Patriotic songs were sung by PK and 5th grade students. Assistant City Manager Kevin Huckabee and Mayor Danny Hogden were special guest speakers. Brown Elementary truly appreciates everyone who attended and helped make this program so successful.
Children's book author, David Sargent, Jr. and several furry friends recently visited the students at Brown Elementary School.
HONORING ALL WHO SERVED
Whitehouse Junior High School honored our veterans with a special program held at Nix Gym on November 12, 2012 entitled "Honoring All Who Served". Special guest speaker was Dr. James Newsom from the University of Texas at Tyler where he is presently the Senior Lecturer of History.
Fifth Grade Celebration
Fifth grade students at Brown Elementary School were recently honored by the PTO for completing six years of elementary school.
CAIN HONORS VETERANS
Friday, November 9th was a special day at Cain Elementary where an exceptional Veterans Day program was held.The Patriot Guard Riders and the Welcome Home Soldiers greeted guests with flying flags as they entered the building. Many veterans attended and were honored as 5th graders and PK provided special music for them. Cub Scout Pack #359 provided the Presentation of Colors and Representative-elect Matt Shaefer spoke about “Who Is a Veteran?” Patriotic songs were woven throughout the program, including “God Bless the USA” by Tony Black, Director of Special Services for WISD. The program ended with Dr. Ken Muckelroy, a member of Bugles Across America, playing “Taps” for his 11,099th time. Cain Elementary was honored to be in the presence of so many veterans who have served to ensure our freedoms. The staff and students are sincerely thankful for all who attended and participated.
