Athletics Staff

District News

Richard Peacock
Athletic Director
Mr. Peacock is beginning his 38th year in education. He coached for 21 of these years before attaining a Masters in Education and accepting a position in administration. He coached for 4 years at Hector, Arkansas, 8 years at John Tyler High School in Tyler, TX and 9 years at Rains High School in Emory, TX. He began his tenure at Whitehouse ISD in 1998 as Assistant Principal at the high school. In 2000, he moved to the Jr. High as the Principal. In 2003, he was promoted to Executive Director of Student Services and in 2009 promoted to Assistant Superintendent. In April 2012, he accepted additional responsibilities as the Athletic Director for the district. He is married to Venita Peacock who is also employed by the district. They have three grown children and four grandchildren. He is an avid fan of sports and enjoys being involved in them. He and his wife both play tennis and he enjoys playing golf.
 

Mary Martin
Athletic Secretary

Mary has worked in the athletic department since August 2003.  She has been with the school district for 18 1/2 years.  Mary and her husband, Stan celebrated their 34th anniversary this year.  She has two children, Clay and his wife Kristi and Britt and his wife Jamie.  Mary is a proud grandmother of Korbin Clay Martin (1).

 

Melissa Alexander
JV Girls Soccer Coach

Coach Alexander is entering her ninth year of coaching soccer.  She has been teaching 1st grade for 12 years at Stanton-Smith and is in her 2nd year teaching 4th grade.  Coach Alexander and her husband, Jon, celebrated their 18th anniversary this summer.  She has two children, Jace is in 8th grade and Makenzie is in 6th grade.

 

Robin Ballard
Golf Coach
Graduated from Quitman High School, attended Stephen F. Austin State University and played on the Lumberjack Golf Team. He played professional golf on both the Asian Pro Golf Tour and Tournament Players Association Tour. Robin worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at Tawakoni Golf Club, Oak Forest CC, Willow Brook CC, Hide-Away-Lake, and was Head Professional at Garden Valley Resort. He became a Social Studies Teacher for WISD in 1993-94 and became the WHS Golf Coach in 1999-2000. During this time the boys’ teams have won 3 District Championships and 7 District runner-up finishes. The girls’ program was 2013 District Champs and has been runner-up one other year. “I have always prided myself on trying to help young people prepare to have a successful education and hopefully wonderful lives.” He is married to Dana, his wife for 29 years. They have 2 daughters, Cassie and Megan; both are Whitehouse Wildcat grads.
 

Evan Beaton
Corner Backs

Coach Beaton is entering his forth year of coaching and his second year at Whitehouse. After graduating from Whitehouse High School in 2007, Coach Beaton went on to get a B.S. in Education at ETBU where he met his beautiful wife of almost 3 years Haley, a Financial Representative for Thrivent Financial. Before coming back to Whitehouse, Coach Beaton coached two years at Copperas Cove as a defensive assistant and Freshman Baseball coach. Coach Beaton and his wife are expecting their first child, Brayden Rhett which may be here before this program is printed.  They also have a spoiled chocolate lab, Max. Along with coaching Football and Track, Coach Beaton will teach Algebra 1. He is thankful for the opportunity to mentor and have an influence on these young men.

 

Jarod Brown
Defensive Line

Coach Brown is beginning his fifth year of coaching at WISD. He graduated from Whitehouse High School before earning a B.B.A from Sam Houston State University. He was a four year letterman for the Sam Houston State Bearkats football program. He is married to Angelica Brown, a teacher at Hubbard Middle School and they have two beautiful children Brayden and Anaya Brown. Coach Brown is looking forward to a great year here at WISD.

 

Travon Brown
Defensive Line

Coach Brown is beginning his ninth year of coaching at WISD.  He graduated from Whitehouse High School before earning his B.A. at Louisiana Tech University and M.Ed at University of Texas at Tyler.  Coach Brown is married to Renee, a teacher at Holloway and they have four children, Tierra, Sierra, and TreSean, and Samuel.  Coach Brown is devoted to his God, family and school.

 

Chris Clemons

Inside Receivers/Special Teams/Head Boys Soccer

Coach Clemons is beginning his 17th year coaching and his 11th  at Whitehouse High School. He graduated from the University of North Texas earning his B.B.A. He began coaching at Maud High School where he stayed for two years. He then moved to Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana where he started the soccer program. In addition to coaching football and soccer, he will teach US History at Whitehouse.  Coach Clemons is married to Mindy, an Occupational Therapist, and they have three boys, Jake (15), Cooper (13), and Max (11).

 

Adam Cook
Head Football

Coach Cook is beginning his second year as head coach and his ninth at Whitehouse. This will be his 14th year in education.  Coach Cook graduated from Redwater High School before earning his B.S. at Texas Tech University and M.Ed at UT Tyler.  He began coaching at Daingerfield Junior High School and has also coached at Sulphur Springs, Redwater, and Chapel Hill before coming to Whitehouse.  Coach Cook and his beautiful bride Julie have three children: Sam (10), Caleb (6) and Sierra (18).  Julie serves as an English Teacher at WHS. 

 

 Brad Cook
Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

Coach Cook is beginning his tenth year of coaching.  He joined the Whitehouse staff after one year at Chapel Hill ISD. He is also the head girl’s track coach for Whitehouse High School. Coach Cook is a graduate of Texas A&M Texarkana with a B.S. in History. Brad has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler, as well as a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Louisiana Baptist University. Coach Cook is lucky to be married to his supportive and beautiful wife Ashlie, a Spanish teacher at Grace Community Elementary, and they are truly blessed to have their daughter, Bradie (6). 

 

  Josh Culpepper
Jr. High Coach

Coach Culpepper is starting his second year as Jr. High Football, basketball and track coach.  After graduating from Whitehouse High School, he received his Bachelors of Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State University.  Josh and his wife, Sarah have been married for 3 years.  Josh has a daughter, Avery (5 months).

 

  Jane DeLorme
Athletic Trainer

Jane DeLorme is one of the two full time Athletic Trainers employed by WISD. She is going on her 11th year at Whitehouse ISD.  Jane received her master's degree from the University of Texas-Tyler in Education emphasis on Health and Kinesiology.  Along with her Athletic Training duties, she also teaches Sports Medicine at the High School.  She is originally from Evergreen, Colorado.  She currently resides in Whitehouse with her husband, Adam and her two dogs. 

 

Andrew Dolan
Receivers

Coach Dolan is beginning his 20th  year of coaching.  After 3 years at Whitewright, and another 3 years at Hitchcock, he came to Whitehouse.  In 2000 he began coaching the Receivers with a few stints on Defense. Coach Dolan graduated from Joaquin High school before entering Lon Morris Jr. College for 2 years then finished up his BS in Kinesiology at SFA.  He also holds a master degree in educational leadership from UTT with a principal certification.  In addition to his football duties, he will teach Biology at Whitehouse High school.  Coach Dolan is married to Lindy Dolan, a Cardiovascular Physician’s assistant, they have 3 children -Seth 15, Kinsey 12, and Rhett 9.  

 

Brian Dunn
Defensive Coordinator

Coach Dunn has been coaching for 20 years.  Coach Dunn will begin his second year as Defensive Coordinator here at Whitehouse. He earned a B.S. from Stephen F. Austin State University in Kinesiology. Most recently in his coaching career, he has coached at Corsicana, Chapel Hill, and Elysian Fields. His beautiful wife, Randi is a teacher at WJH, and they have three sons: Cade (14), Coby (12), and Cannon (5).

 

 

Scott Eeds
Swim Coach

Coach Eeds is enjoying his 10th year of coaching the award winning WHS Wildcat Swimming Team and his 16th year of teaching.  He is currently teaching Pre-AP Biology and AP Biology and serves as the department chair for the science department at the High School.  Later this school year, he will celebrate 21 years of marriage to Melissa who teaches first grade in Troup. Coach Eeds has three children.  His oldest, Emily,  attending Blinn College in College Station.  His middle child, Courtney will be in 9th grade and is a majorette.  His youngest is Alan which will be in 5th grade. Coach Eeds is looking forward to another great swim season.

 

Keith Ellis
Offensive Line

Coach Ellis is entering his 24th year of coaching.  This will be his 12th year in Whitehouse.  He has also coached in Crockett for ten years and Anahuac for two years.  Coach Ellis is also the ninth grade Boy’s Basketball Coach and a History teacher at WHS.  He graduated from Frankston High School before earning a B.A.T. in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University. Coach Ellis and his wife Suzan have three wonderful children Peyton (11), Shanna (9), and Austin (8).

 
 

Jared Freeman
Running Backs & Inside Receivers/Asst. Baseball

Coach Freeman is beginning his seventh year of coaching, and his fifth at WISD.  He graduated from Daingerfield High School in 2003 where he played football and baseball. He played football at Southern Arkansas before transferring to the University of Texas at Tyler where he earned his B.A. in History. In addition to football, he is an assistant baseball coach, and teaches World Geography.  Coach Freeman has been married to his wife Talesh for six years, and has a four year old son, Keiran. 

 

 
Don Garlitz
Linebackers, Head Boys Track

Coach Garlitz is entering his 30th year of coaching, his 15th at Whitehouse High.  In addition to his coaching duties, he also teaches Health. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1980, Ranger Jr. College in 1982, and Angelo State University in 1984 with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education.  He has also coached for 3 years at San Angelo, 3 years at Andrews, 4 years at Big Spring, and 5 years at Lubbock-Cooper. He has 3 children who have graduated from Whitehouse High.  Allison (26) and her husband Jacob are graduates of Texas Tech and live in Tyler.  Matt (22) is a senior at Texas Tech.  Rachel (20) is a junior at Texas A&M. 

 

Stacey Hendrix
Freshmen Volleyball/JV Girls Basketbal

Stacey Hendrix is in her 16th year of teaching & coaching. She is starting her 14th year at WISD & is currently the 9th grade volleyball & JV women’s basketball coach.  She will be teaching geography during the 2014-2015 school year.  She is a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University where she played on the inaugural girls basketball team & served as president of Remnant Players, a drama ministry to churches & schools.  She graduated from Hawkins High School & married her high school sweetheart, Kevin.  They have been married for 15 years & have three beautiful children, Kyle (11), Brayden (7), & Kinsley (1), whom she proudly calls her “trophies”.  Kevin & Stacey are currently serving as the Sr. pastors at Freedom Fellowship in Tyler.

 

Brandy Hill
Jr. High Coach

Brandy Hill is in her second year at WISD. She is currently assistant of the Jr. High girls sports volleyball, basketball and track. She teaches Physical Education at the Jr. High. She graduated from Hallsville High School in 2001 then attended Blinn Jr. College on a softball scholarship 2001-2003. She then continued on to Bacone College on another softball scholarship 2003-2006. She received a Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education 2006. She currently resides in Gilmer.       

 

Derrick Jenkins

Baseball/Jr. High Football Coach 

Coach Jenkins graduated from high school in Daingerfield and college at SFA.  This will be his 13th year as a coach and his 5th year as a head baseball coach in Whitehouse.  He also coached for 6 years in White Oak (3 years as head baseball), and 2 years in Terrell (1 year as head baseball). 
He is married to Whitney Jenkins (Kindergarten teacher at Brown Elementary) and they have been married for 11 years.  They have two children:  Logan (9 years) and Jaxon (6 years). 

 
 
Brent Jimmerson
Jr. High Coach & Baseball Coach

Coach Jimmerson is entering his fourth year of coaching and teaching at Whitehouse.  He graduated from UTT with a BBA in Finance and Post Bach. teacher certification.  He and his wife of 11 years, Victoria, a hair stylist at Jade Panda, have two children Kira and Tanner.  Along with coaching Jr. High football, basketball and JV and Varsity baseball, he teaches 8th grade math.

 

Brad Jones
Head Girls Soccer/Cross Country 

Coach Jones is beginning his 14th year coaching in Whitehouse with a total of 16 years of coaching experience.  He started his coaching career in Joshua ISD before coming to Whitehouse.  He is a graduate of China Spring High School and received a B.S. in kinesiology from Texas A & M University.  Coach Jones and his wife Mollie have been married for 11 years.  She teaches at Holloway Middle School.  They have a daughter Mackie (8) and son, Cameron (5).

 
 
Brent Kelley
Head Boys Basketball/Asst. Golf

Coach Kelley graduated from Garrison and then attended Stephen F. Austin State University. This will be his 2nd year as the Head Boys Basketball coach and assistant golf coach. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Jacksonville. Coach Kelley and his wife Abbie have been married for seven years.  She teaches kindergarten at Higgins Elementary.  They have three children, Aniston (5) and Boston (2) and Blaire (6 months).

 

 Shari Knight

Jr. High Coach

Shari began working at the junior high in 2002 as an educational aide in the math department.  It was during that first year that she realized that teaching was her calling.  She went back to school to get her teaching certificate and is now starting her 10th year coaching volleyball and basketball and track was added last year.  She teaches history, both Texas and American, and has a total of 13 years in education and all in Whitehouse.  Shari has three daughters who were all active in Whitehouse schools.  Jordan, who is 24, graduated from Whitehouse in 2008 and received a bachelor's degree in business management from UT Tyler.  She is employed by Dermatology Associates in Tyler.  Angela, 19, graduated from Whitehouse in 2013 and is attending TJC with the purpose of going to nursing school at UT Tyler.  Ali, 17, graduated from Whitehouse this year and is a freshmen at University of North Texas with the intention of majoring in Accounting.

 
 

Melanie Lane

Head Girls Basketball Coach/Assistant Girls Track

Coach Lane will be entering her 7th year of coaching as the Head Girls Basketball Coach starting the 2014-15 season for the Ladycats.  She is coming from Irving High School where she was the Varsity Assistant Girls Basketball Coach/Assistant Track Coach and for 5 years prior was the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth.  She is originally from Tyler, TX and a John Tyler graduate.  She received her bachelors from the University of Texas of Arlington in which she played their on a four-year basketball scholarship.  She enjoys coaching and is excited about being a part of the Whitehouse family and her daughter, Corie (4), growing up in the Whitehouse community.

 
 
Tray Lang
Tennis Coach

This will be Coach Lang’s 11th year at Whitehouse. He coaches Tennis at the Jr. High and High School and teaches 8th grade Science. He has three children Lauren, Luke, and Jaxon.  He and his wife, Amy have been married for 13 years. She teaches math in Lindale. They enjoy being teachers because it allows them to spend more time with their children and families. 

 
 
Kevin Loyd
Jr. High Coach

This is Coach Loyd’s second year at Whitehouse ISD. Coach Loyd graduated from Texas A&M University. He is a native East Texan from Gilmer. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, watching college football, working out, and spending time with his family. Coach Loyd married his beautiful wife Laura in May of 2014. Coach Loyd is thankful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives in the Whitehouse community

 
 
Scott McFadden
Offensive Line Coach/Special Teams

Coach McFadden is entering his 20th year coaching and 17th at Whitehouse High School.  He is a graduate of Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas.  After high School, he attended Stephen F. Austin State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology.   He began his coaching career in Brenham, Texas, where he stayed for 3 years before coming to Whitehouse.  In addition to football, he is the assistant soccer coach, and teaches Anatomy and Physiology and Pre AP Biology.  He has been married to Tiffany, a teacher at Holloway Middle School, for 14 years.  They have a son Ryan (11) and a daughter Rylee (8).

 
 
Adam McMahon
Quarterbacks & Running Backs/Basketball Assistant

Coach McMahon is entering his 8th year of coaching, all of which have been spent at WISD. After graduating from Mineola High School in 2000, Coach McMahon spent a semester playing baseball at Angelina College.  In the spring of 2001, Coach McMahon transferred to Tyler Junior College where he got his Associate’s degree in General Studies. Coach McMahon went on to finish his 4 year bachelor’s degree in Political Science at The University of Texas at Tyler. Coach McMahon has been married for 9 years to his beautiful wife Brittany. They have two children, Colton (7) and Mahayla (6).

 
 
Britney Nordin
Head Volleyball/Asst. Track

Britney Nordin is in her eighth year of teaching and coaching, with five of those years at Whitehouse High School.  She is the head coach for volleyball, assistant track coach, and teaches health.  She graduated high school from Robert E. Lee and got a B.A. in Secondary Education and Kinesiology from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  She also played collegiate volleyball for four years while attending OBU.  She continued her education at UT Tyler earning a Masters degree Kinesiology.  She has been married to her OBU college sweetheart for seven years and they have a 6 year old poodle named Cricket.

 
 
Jay Ramsey
Athletic Trainer

Jay Ramsey has been an Athletic Trainer for Whitehouse ISD for ten years. He graduated from Garrison High School, Stephen F. Austin University, and received his master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.  Prior to working at Whitehouse, he was employed with Trinity Mother Frances and covered a variety of smaller high schools as the Athletic Trainer and worked with Kilgore Junior College.  He is married to his beautiful wife Andrea, has two sons Luke (7) and Lawson (4). 

 
 
Ryan Rumbelow
Jr. High Coach
Ryan is a graduate of Bullard High School ('08) and Texas A&M University ('12) where he earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He is currently a student in the MBA program at UT-Tyler and will be entering his 2nd year of coaching and teaching at Whitehouse Junior High. Ryan and his beautiful fiancé Laura, a 5th grade teacher at Brown, are excited to have an impact on the community and will tie the knot on January 3, 2015
 

Jon Sheppard
Head Softball/JV Volleyball

Coach Sheppard is beginning his 26th  year of teaching and 15th year of coaching at Whitehouse.  He graduated from Conroe High School before earning his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Tyler and then his Master’s degree in Administrative Leadership and Policies from the University of Texas at Arlington.  He began teaching and coaching at Palestine Westwood in 1989.  He also taught math at Jacksonville Middle School and High School for eight years before coming to Whitehouse to teach and coach.  He is currently the JV volleyball coach and the head softball coach. He is teaching Accounting and BIM. He loves coaching teams to be their best through faith, teamwork, family, and hard work. Coach Sheppard is married to his wife of 31 years, Joy, and they have three children, Jon Jr. (28), Matthew (26), Elizabeth (16) and the most beautiful granddaughters ever.

 

Sam Shields

Junior High Athletic Coordinator

Coach Shields is beginning his 31st year of coaching and his ninth year at Whitehouse.  He graduated from Nacogdoches High School before earning his B.S. in Education from the University of Texas at Austin, M. Ed. (Secondary) from Stephen F. Austin State University and Administrators Certificate from Texas A&M-Commerce.  He began coaching at Plano Senior High School and coached there for seventeen years.  He also coached at Klein High School for one year and Henderson High School for four years before coming to Whitehouse.  Coach Shields is married to LeAnn and they have two children, Jake (18), and Michelle (14).

 

Jason Shuck
Defensive Backs/Safeties

Coach Shuck is beginning his 11th year of coaching, all of which have been at Whitehouse.  He graduated from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Arkansas in 1996 where he played football, basketball, and baseball.  Coach Shuck played baseball at Carl Albert State College in Poteau, Oklahoma and went on to play three seasons in the Mets farm system after being drafted in 1997.  He earned is B.S. in Kinesiology from Texas A&M-Commerce in 2003 and teaches Geography and Psychology at Whitehouse High School.  Jason has one son, Jagger (3).

 
 

 
Brittani Toole
Jr. High Coach

Brittani Toole is in her fourth year at WISD.  She is currently the head coach of volleyball and assistant of girl’s basketball and track at the junior high campus.  She teaches physical education.  She was a 2007 graduate of WHS and attended SAGU on a volleyball scholarship.  She received a degree in psychology with a minor in biblical studies.  She currently resides in Whitehouse with her 11 year old chickapom, Sugar. 

 

Stephanie Post

Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainert

Stephanie Post is in her first year at Whitehouse ISD.  Stephanie is from Pleasanton, TX, located outside of San Antonio.  She received her Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Baylor University.  She is currently working on her Master’s Degree through Sam Houston State University.  She is looking forward to joining the Whitehouse family and community. 

 
 
 

CAIN ELEMENTARY 4TH GRADERS STUDY CHARLOTTE'S WEB

District News
Cain Elementary 4th graders in Mrs. Kurtz's Language Arts classes welcomed a precious piglet to kick off the novel study of Charlotte's Web. Reading came alive as the students interacted with Avarie, our very own real-life "Wilbur." Students fed her treats, loved on her, and laughed at the sights and sounds all while making text connections to the novel. For weeks to come, students will use this experience to bring E.B. White's classic novel to life.

WISD ANNOUNCES HEAD BASKETBALL COACH

District News
Whitehouse ISD is pleased to announce the hiring of Brent Kelley as the Head Basketball coach for Whitehouse High School. Coach Kelley has served as the head coach in Jacksonville for the last four years compiling a record of 106-30. He served as the assistant basketball coach in Jacksonville three years prior to becoming the head coach. We are excited about Coach Kelley joining the staff at Whitehouse High School.
