WISD implements anonymous reporting system

Dear Whitehouse ISD Families:

As a school district, we are committed to creating and sustaining a comprehensive, coordinated effort to improve the overall safety and well-being of our students, educators and administrators.

To do this, we believe this must involve community-wide programs and initiatives involving parents, teachers, administrators, local law enforcement, mental health & wellness professionals and elected officials to take meaningful action to protect our students.

Staff Development - No school for students

There will be no school for students on Friday, October 18th and Monday, October 21st. WISD staff will be on campuses for Staff Development. Students will return to school on Tuesday, October 22nd.

Tax rate drops for WISD

On Monday, August 26th, the Whitehouse ISD Board of Trustees approved a balanced budget of $52,150,199 for the 2019-20 school year.

In addition, a total tax rate of $1.325 per $100 valuation was set.
WISD is pleased to report an 8.8 cent drop in the total tax rate from last fiscal year.

Non-credible social media threat

Late Sunday night, August 25th, Whitehouse ISD officials were made aware of a social media post claiming a Whitehouse High School student had made a threat. WISD officials, in coordination with the Whitehouse Police Department, quickly verified the post to be non-credible. The post was determined to be a prank by a student not enrolled in WISD, in an attempt to bully that Whitehouse High School student. Whitehouse ISD believes everyone has the right to a safe and caring environment. The district is safe and secure and the high school will follow its regular schedule on Monday, August 26th.

Chromebook Checkout for CATS Aspire

Chromebook Checkout for all students utilizing the district provided chromebooks will be held August 20th from 8:00am-6:00pm at WJHS.

Parent training on Google and chromebooks basics will be provided throughout the day and again at 6:00pm in the WJHS Learning Resource Center.

The WISD Technology Department will be available to answer questions.

Whitehouse ISD receives 'A' rating from TEA

The Whitehouse ISD 2019 A-F Accountability Ratings have been shared and can be viewed in the table below. The A-F Accountability Ratings are designed as a tool for local school boards to gage whether the district and its schools are improving from year to year. The district and all Whitehouse ISD schools met the standard set forth by the Texas Education Agency in the three domains which measure performance in (1) student achievement, (2) school progress, and (3) closing the gaps.
