April 17th Update Regarding Extended School Closure

Whitehouse ISD will comply with Governor Greg Abbott's order to close school for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

Today, Friday, April 17th, the Governor announced the statewide closure of schools for the remainder of the school year in a continued effort to fight COVID-19. WISD will continue the online learning platform for students through the end of the academic year, which is Friday, May 29th.

Parents should encourage children to give their very best effort through the end of the school year so we can begin the following year in the best shape possible.

In the coming days, information about graduation, summer school, and other initiatives will be shared to honor our graduating seniors and retiring employees. I applaud the efforts of our staff, parents, students, and community in fighting the coronavirus.

C.S. Lewis said, "Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” Whitehouse ISD is destined for great days ahead. Thank you all for doing your part to finish strong and join together in fighting COVID-19.
