GT Nominations

Whitehouse ISD is accepting nominations for assessment of giftedness in students in Grades 1-5 who show high academic potential. Anyone can nominate a student for assessment including parents, other relatives, guardians, and school personnel. Nomination forms can be requested from your child’s classroom teacher or counselor. Additional testing will be needed to determine the child’s educational needs. Parents must provide permission to administer ability and achievement tests and must also complete a questionnaire. All forms are due to the school counselor by Friday, April 8, 2016.

Whitehouse First Ladies Earn Top Awards at DFW State Championship

The First Ladies Drill Team represented Whitehouse ISD this past Saturday at the Dallas Fort Worth State Championship in Duncanville. The First Ladies competed in the large team division with many other schools from across the state. They were awarded Best in Class - Large Team, Second Place Best of the Best School out of 51 schools in attendance and First Runner-Up Academic Champions with an overall GPA of 3.7. Way to go, First Ladies!

Whitehouse Junior League Lady Cats

The Lady Cat Junior League held its first ever maroon and white game last week to close out the season. The teams were made up of fifth and sixth grade Junior League participants and was held in the high school arena.

Elementary Students Earn Top Awards

Two Whitehouse Elementary Schools participated in the Academic Rodeo Mindset Breaking Experience competition finals that were held last week. Higgins Elementary earned first place while Brown Elementary placed third.

National Merit Finalist Announced

Dr. Jonathan Campbell, Whitehouse High School principal, announced today that Nathan W. Wilson has been awarded the honor of National Merit Finalist in the 2016 Competition for National Merit Scholarships.

Holloway Launches New Builders Club

The Kiwanis Builders Club is designed to build leaders through service projects. The goal of the group is to conduct two service projects each semester. One project will directly benefit the Holloway campus while the other benefits the community.
