Cain Elementary Earns Prestigious Award

Whitehouse Independent School District’s Gus Winston Cain Elementary has been nominated by the Texas Education Agency for national 2016 Blue Ribbon Schools recognition.

Only twenty-six Texas schools were nominated by TEA for this prestigious award. Cain Elementary was selected as exemplary high performing school as measured on the 2015 state assessments.

Whitehouse Junior League Lady Cats

The Lady Cat Junior League held its first ever maroon and white game last week to close out the season. The teams were made up of fifth and sixth grade Junior League participants and was held in the high school arena.

School Board Meeting Summary 1-19-2016

Whitehouse Independent School Board recognized Cain Elementary for its recent National Blue Ribbon Schools nomination. Only 26 campuses out of over 8,000 state-wide earn the nomination given by the Texas Education Agency.

Kindergarten GT Nominations

Whitehouse ISD is accepting nominations for assessment of giftedness in kindergarten students who show high academic potential. Anyone can nominate a student for assessment, including parents, other relatives, guardians, and school personnel. Nomination forms can be requested from your child’s classroom teacher or counselor. Additional testing will be needed to determine the child’s educational needs. Parents must provide permission to administer ability and achievement tests and must also complete a questionnaire. All forms are due to the school counselor by Friday, January 22, 2015.
