WISD Parents,

We hope that your family is healthy and safe during this time.  Whitehouse is committed to serving your family and doing our best to provide continued learning opportunities for your student.  The elementary campuses will be using a program called Education Galaxy to provide online activities for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.  Many students have used this program already in their classes.  PreK students will be using ABC Mouse. PreK teachers will be reaching out to share login information.

The district has created a central resource for you to access this and other online tools for your student.  On the Whitehouse ISD website at https://www.whitehouseisd.org/, select the tab at the top that says COVID-19.  This site will have district updates, learning tools, and supplementary resources.  Elementary-specific resources may be found on a tab to the right that says Elementary Online Learning.  Click here for a direct link to that site

Click on Access Education Galaxy/Clever Portal at the bottom of the page.  Here is a direct link to the Clever Portal.  Students will use their district email to access the program.  This email address is available on Skyward family access or through your student’s teacher.

If your student has not used Education Galaxy before, they will be asked to take a diagnostic test before starting assignments.  This will help place your student where they need to be.

To provide both flexibility and meaningful learning, we are expecting our students to complete the following:

  • Students will work on Education Galaxy daily for a minimum of one hour.
  • Students will read 30 minutes daily.
  • Students will practice math facts 15 minutes daily.
  • Students should participate in some sort of physical activity for 30 minutes daily.

We expect there will be some issues and hiccups as we get started.  We appreciate your patience and feedback as we work to support our students.  We have a great community and we know that we can weather this storm together.

Above all, students first!

Whitehouse ISD will be closed Monday, March 16th - Friday, March 20th

Whitehouse Independent School District has closed school and canceled all related activities during the week of March 16th - 20th due to the increased concern related to COVID-19. After thoughtful consideration and conversations with health professionals, community mitigation to help slow the transmission of the virus in our community is the primary goal for the closure.
