WISD Board of Trustees calls Tax Ratification Election (TRE)

Whitehouse ISD:

The WISD Board of Trustees met Monday, July 9th on behalf of our students.

A Public Hearing was held to consider a proposed tax rate of $1.413, which is the same as the current tax rate. The public hearing involved discussion of an increase in the current Maintenance and Operations rate of $1.04 by two cents to $1.06, while at the same time, decreasing the Interest and Sinking rate of $0.373 by two cents to $0.353. This move would result in NO increase in school taxes, keeping the rate at $1.413.

Portrait of a Graduate Video

The Portrait of a Graduate video is here!

What's the Portrait of a Graduate?

Since the summer of 2017, our district has been engaged in a strategic planning process aimed at providing direction and vision for our great district. This process has been a partnership of more than 100 individuals including teachers, students, community members, and district leaders. The strategic plan has one central focus, student success.

This Portrait of a Graduate contains eight attributes we as a community believe every graduating senior should possess.

Click this story to watch the video and see our students share those attributes with you:
