Graduation 2019 at Wildcat Stadium

We’re doing it! We’ve moved the 2019 Graduation ceremony to Wildcat Stadium!

Friday, May 31, 2019
8pm

Because of ample seating, no tickets will be needed for entry! Invite everyone!

In the event of bad weather, a contingency plan will be communicated out to families via Blackboard, district website, and social media sites.

Senior parents, you will be receiving more information in the coming weeks.

No school Monday, December 24th - Monday, January 7th

WISD campuses will be closed for the break beginning Monday, December 24th - Friday, January 4th, 2019.

Teachers will return to campuses Monday, January 7th for Staff Development.
Students will return to campuses Tuesday, January 8th, 2019.

Former Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell visiting Whitehouse ISD

500 tickets will be available for purchase at the event tonight!

Former Navy Seal, recipient of the Navy Cross, recipient of the Purple Heart, author of The Lone Survivor, survivor of Operation Red Wing Hospital Corpsman First Class Marcus Luttrell will be speaking at Whitehouse High School on Thursday, December 13th at 7pm.

Tickets are $10. Cash only. Tickets will be available for purchase at Whitehouse High School, Whitehouse Junior High, Whitehouse Administration, or Cavender's in Tyler.

Doors close at 7pm. Please make arrangements to be seated prior to 6:55pm.

Due to the nature of this event, please consider leaving children under 12yrs. old at home.

*VIP tickets are SOLD OUT!
VIP ticket holders should arrive at Whitehouse High School between 5:30pm - 6:30pm for the Meet and Greet with Marcus Luttrell.

Social media threat addressed

A Whitehouse Jr. High student was arrested this morning and charged with Terroristic Threat, a 3rd degree felony. The student has been suspended from school pending further school discipline.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chris Moran commented, “Mr. Ripley and his staff are committed to providing a safe and caring environment for everyone at Whitehouse Jr. High .” The district ensured there were additional law enforcement officers on the Jr. High campus this morning to ease the concerns of parents and students.

WISD is thankful for the students who immediately reported the social media post to school officials. Moran stated, “that is how it should work. Students saw something and said something and for that, we are grateful.”

Whitehouse ISD takes all threats very seriously and is continuing to investigate the social media post that caused concern on Monday night, November 26, 2018. The public should be reassured that the district's top priority is the safety and security of students and staff. Disciplinary measures are applied to all students making threats, according to the Whitehouse ISD Student Code of Conduct once the investigation is concluded. The student will not return to campus pending an investigation and the outcome of disciplinary measures.

A Whitehouse Jr. High student is being investigated as a result of a threatening post to social media earlier this evening. School officials and School Resource Officers responded swiftly to resolve the issue. The student is being disciplined and additional law enforcement will be present on the Jr. High campus on Tuesday morning to reassure parents and students that all is safe. WISD is thankful for parents and students who reported the social media post so quickly.

No school November 19th - November 23rd

Reminder: All WISD campuses will be closed for Thanksgiving break beginning Monday, November 19th - Friday, November 23rd.

Staff and students will return to school Monday, November 26th.

Bus 172 involved in minor accident

Bus 172 was involved in a minor accident on Woodhaven on Monday, November 5th when the bus scraped a tractor. There were no injuries. Students are being transferred to another WISD bus.

ESL Family Night Tuesday, November 6th

Families:

We're hosting an ESL Family Night!
We're inviting families whose children are in the ESL program to an informational meeting at the High School Library. Presentations will be offered in both English and Spanish!
