I grew up in Woodville, TX, moved to Dallas to attend American Airlines Travel Academy to become a flight attendant. I then relocated to Tyler to obtain my AA in General Studies from TJC and BS in Journalism/Public Relations from UT Tyler (2003).
I taught Speech Communication and coached volleyball, basketball and track at Winona Middle and High Schools beginning in 2003. From 2004-2009 I coached volleyball, basketball and cheerleading while working as the Asst. to the Director of Athletics at All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler.
In the fall of 2009 I joined the wonderful Whitehouse ISD family as the high school journalism and photo journalism teacher, yearbook and newspaper adviser, cheerleading coach and UIL Journalism coach.
Since becoming the yearbook and newspaper adviser, our publications department continues to win numerous state and national awards, including being named one of Balfour's nationally ranked Yearbook Yearbooks yearly since 2010.
My husband, Christopher and I are raising our son in the Whitehouse school district and can't imagine him having a more positive educational experience.
