Howdy! My name is Holly Drain. I am the Physical Education Teacher at Holloway. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University, and in my tenth year of teaching. I have lived in East Texas for the past 21 years, and have loved my time working for Whitehouse ISD!
I love helping our Holloway students learn about their health while having fun at the same time. We teach a wide range of skills that kids can use for a lifetime. We are always looking for ways to incorporate the student's core curriculum into our physical education classes. We want to help stress the importance of physical fitness and healthy lifestyle habits that our students can use for the rest of their life.

A diet rich in fruits and veggies provides vitamins and minerals, important for supporting growth and development, and for optimal immune function in children. Emerging science suggests fruit and vegetable consumption may help prevent weight gain and be an important aid to achieving and sustaining weight loss. Try to include fruits and vegetables in your child's diet every day!

Holloway Physical Education
Welcome to P.E. in 6th grade! We are so excited you are here! Did you know that exercise grows brain cells? We want our students to understand the importance of a healthy life-style and how to have fun while achieving their fitness goals. We are looking forward to a great year!
HOLLOWAY STUDENTS ATTEND P.E. EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. In order for the students to be safe and successful in 6th Grade P.E. they must meet the following requirements:
- SHOES - Athletic shoes ONLY. No sandals, boots (dress or cowboy), flip flops, high heels, wedges, Crocs, etc. Athletic shoes are required for safety purposes.
- DRESS CODE - Proper dress code will be enforced. See WISD District Dress Code Policy. Girls must wear shorts under skirts/dresses, as we do all kinds of activities involving stretching, jumping, running, etc. I saw a sign that read, “Raise your hands and touch your toes, if anything shows, go change your clothes.” Appropriate active wear is best!
- BEHAVIOR - Students must actively participate with a positive attitude, show good sportsmanship, keep their hands to themselves, and be respectful at all times.

PROPER CLOTHING ATTIRE – WATCH THE WEATHER! - P.E. class is held either in the gym or outside. Set yourself up for success! Watch the weather each day and dress accordingly.
FIELD CONDITIONS (ESPECIALLY EARLY MORNING): Early morning PE classes tend to experience wet dew on the grass fields, which can cause the student’s shoes to get messy. You may opt to bring an older pair of athletic shoes for class if you are concerned about getting them dirty. Dew on the grass will not stop our class.
EXCUSE NOTES: Injured/sick students must provide a SIGNED & DATED NOTE from their parent/guardian that will only excuse participation for three days. After the third day, a medical note from a doctor is required in order to be excused from Physical Education class.
