I grew up in Cross Plains, Texas. A very small town out in west Texas. I graduated from Brownwood High School in 1986 and received my degree from Howard Payne University in 1990. This is my 24th year of teaching, and 18 of those years have been right here in Whitehouse.
I am married to Jim Horn, and together we have 6 children. My three are Heath, 28, a graduate of Whitehouse High School, Brown University, and Yale Law School. Landry, 20, a graduate of Whitehouse High School, and currently a junior at Amherst College, and Easton, 14, an 9th grader at Whitehouse HIgh School. Jim's children are Madison, 24, a graduate of Whitehouse High School, Claire, 21, a graduate of Whitehouse High School and currently a senior at UT Tyler, and Ben, 16, an 11th grader at Whitehouse High School. Between all 6 kiddos we stay very busy keeping up with them. My family is my world!
I am so excited about this school year. We are a No Excuses University campus. This program teaches students about college readiness and gets them excited about their academic futures. My classroom has adopted Amherst College. Go Mammoths! Amherst College is one of the oldest colleges in the country and is a part of the NESCAC. I can't wait to share information about all Amherst has to offer! Cain is also a Blue Ribbon School! I am so excited for another wonderful year at Cain Elementary!
