Welcome to the Life Skills Class Site. We are so glad you stopped by. The goal of our self-contained life skills class is to teach each student essential functional skills, as well as all required academic courses. This class is designed to help students meet their individual IEP goals in all areas of instruction. It also helps them prepare for high school. The fact that we are self-contained means we will be together as a class for most of the day, which gives us a great deal of flexibility with our schedule, as well as the opportunity to work on individual goals and objectives. Strategies are used to address the diverse needs and modifications that each student needs. The major emphasis for our class is to allow students to learn skills, values, attitudes and behaviors that are essential in school, their personal life and for success in the work place. Our desire is that our students will be as independent as possible.
We are located in Room HL2.
*Respect!! Respect yourself, your classmates, your teachers, all faculty and any property that does not belong to you.
*All policies of the student handbook applies in our classroom. This includes but is not limited to the dress code, no cell phones, no head phones and no bullying.
*This classroom is meant to be a safe, fun, welcoming environment in which everyone that enters feels comfortable, loved and ready to learn.
Due to the fact that most of our instruction is done on a one-on-one basis, my class schedule is very flexible. We go to A lunch (10:50 -11:20) and my conference period is 7th period (1:30-2:15). If you need to meet with me don't hesitate to give me a call.
