I joined Whitehouse ISD in 2013, having taught theatre for 16 years in Jacksonville.
I enjoy teaching design and carpentry skills to technical theatre students. Over these years, I have found that these students are capable of so much more than they realize. It's just fun to be there on the day they master a task or learn a new skill.
My students have designed and constructed sets for every genre of theatre. In makeup design, they learn old age makeup, cuts and bruises, fantasy makeup and special effects. In sound, WHS students can design, record and edit sound, while in lighting, once the design is finished, the focusing begins.
Each day is a new adventure in a Technical Theatre class and, while the students will tell you that I run a tight ship, I have been known to laugh....at least once in a while.
