I grew up in Angleton, Texas, a small town near Houston. Graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in Political Science, my first teaching jobs were in south Texas. I actually taught basic math in high school! I also taught 2nd and 3rd grades.
After a long break (and mothering 3 sons), I taught World History in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. That's where I learned that I loved sixth graders!
After moving to Tyler in 1996, I took another long break (again, those three sons!), and then happily began teaching at Holloway in the fall of 2013.
My hobbies include playing with my little grandchildren and helping my husband in our garden. Reading is very important to me! I often read for several hours every day, often biographies about historical figures. History fascinates me!
