1. What about grades? I take at least 2 or 3 grades a week, which usually includes the Friday Spelling Test, a Reading Practice daily grade, and another daily grade for alphabetizing or some other activity. I always have more than 25 grades in a 9-weeks so when a student is absent, that person will usually have one less grade and does not need to do make-up work. When a student has a grade below 70, the corrections I assign is to correctly write each word missed three times. I use the District Grading Policy which can be accessed at the following link.

3. What about tutorials? I do not have a scheduled time for tutorials, but I am available almost every afternoon (except Thursdays) with prior notice.
4. What Homework do you give? Some students have asked for flash cards to practice at home, but I rarely assign homework. In the spring I ask my students to do a project. Students will have several weeks to work on it and Project Presentations are often a highlight of the year.
