My name is Jinny Harris, and this is my tenth year with Whitehouse ISD. I was a counselor at the high school for five years and am so excited to be in my fifth year at the Holloway 6th grade campus.
I grew up in Ohio where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English from Mount Union College before moving to Texas. I had the pleasure of teaching English, Choir, and Theatre Arts in the San Antonio area while pursuing my Master's Degree in Counseling at the University of Texas in San Antonio. I have worked as a School Counselor for grades 6-12 over the past several years in both the San Antonio area and Whitehouse, TX. Additionally, I proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years as a vocalist in the USAF Band of the West at Lackland AFB.
I am blessed with a wonderful family! My husband, Tom, and I met in the Air Force and have been married 21 years. We have three children. Tommi Jo (TJ) is a 2016 graduate of Whitehouse High School and is in her junior year at Dallas Baptist University where she is studying Music Business. Berri is in the 11th grade. She is passionate about musical theatre and continues to polish her singing, dancing, and acting skills so she can one day perform in a Broadway musical. Benjamin, a 9th grader this year at Whitehouse High School, is a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, a grey belt in Jiu-Jitsu and enjoys basketball, football, soccer, track, and playing with his dog, Snowball.
My favorite hobby is performing in plays and musicals at the Tyler Civic Theatre and Pollard Theatre Center. I also enjoy singing with the church praise team and at the Gladewater Opry. In my "down time" I love watching NCIS and Blue Bloods.
