I love teaching and value each and every one of my Wildcat students! I enjoy people and truly love getting to know others, especially my new students! This is my 5th year to teach at Whitehouse Junior High School and I just know it will be the best yet!

I hold a B.S. in Journalism/Mass Communication from the University of Texas at Tyler with a concentration in public relations and integrated marketing. My passions are in portrait photography, photojournalism and advertising. In addition to teaching, I also own a photography business, work as a freelance photographer for Tyler Morning Telegraph's, IN Magazine, and work as founder of Paracord with a Purpose, a non-profit fundraising campaign that creates paracord accessories as a means to raise money for mission service opportunities, as well as limitless other non-profits and charities. I truly love serving others in need through charities and mission service opportunities.

I spend as much time as possible with family and friends and really enjoy the outdoors. My husband and I have been married for 6 years, and I am the mother of two beautiful daughters, one 3-years-old and one 3-months-old. Needless to say, I stay pretty busy outside of school.

I am very excited about what the 2017-2018 school year will bring and look forward to helping your student reach their full potential both in and out of the classroom! Please feel free to contact me at any time for any reason if I can help you or your student. I am more than happy to offer my help in order to see your student succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Current Event Assignment

If you need to refer to the rubric for the assignment given today (Feb 1), please see the attached file.
For today's assignment, you are NOT required to cut out and attach anything to your article and your article may or may not have a side or position that you have to take. Please remember, you are NOT required to write 5 sentences for each section--just 3 sentences for now--one for the summary section and one for the reaction section.
You WILL have time in class tomorrow to complete your assignment as a warm-up, but it should not take a lengthy amount of time to complete this assignment.
