Welcome to my page!
I am a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher. I have been teaching at Whitehouse High School for nearly 22 years. Prior to teaching here, I have worked at Carthage High School, Bandera Junior High School and Cuero High School.
I graduated from Airline High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. I then earned a B.S. in Vocational Home Economics from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Other accomplishments include past service on the Board of Directors for Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher's Association of Texas and multiple terms on the Smith County Junior Livestock Show Board of Directors, currently serving as vice President. In 2014-2015 I served as an FCCLA National Executive Council Advisor.
Probably my favorite thing is to travel with my students and open up the possibilities waiting for them outside of Whitehouse, Texas.
I am a co-advisor for the Career and Technical Student Organization, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) here at Whitehouse High School. My main role for FCCLA is to serve as the officer advisor. In the past, I have advised a region, state and national FCCLA officer. I currently advise the FCCLA Region III Vice President of Achievement.
I am also an active coach for the UIL Academic team, having coached Current Events, Literary Criticism and most recently, Spelling. I have even been known to pinch hit as an FFA advisor.
I live in Arp, Texas with my husband, Mike, our daughter Macy and we have two grown sons, Josh and Patrick. We have two spoiled rotten pets: a horse named Ringo, and a boxer named Josie.
