I was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL and grew up enjoying the benefits of the Sunshine State, including sports (football, baseball and beach volleyball), college football loyalty (Miami Hurricanes), autograph collecting during MLB spring training and school and youth group activities. I attended college in upstate New York at the Word of Life Bible Institute and the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL (BA - Theology). Kristen agreed to marry me after graduation and our first full-time jobs began in the fall of 1999; teaching and coaching for five years at Landmark Christian School in suburban Atlanta, GA.
After a time as a High School Pastor in suburban Detroit, MI, we both returned to the classroom in 2006 at Grace Community School in Tyler, TX, while living in Whitehouse. Now a family of five (children Steven, Erik and Audrey), we took advantage of the opportunity to put down roots in Whitehouse by joining the WHS faculty (Chris as the Economics teacher in 2012, and Kristen as an English teacher in 2014).
In my non-teaching time I do some pastoral ministry work, and enjoy outdoor and sports activities, in addition to reading, in-person gaming and completing home DIY projects.
