Hello! My name is Kathryn Wimberley! This is my third year teaching in Whitehouse, and my fourth year as a teacher.
I have lived in Whitehouse, TX my entire life and graduated from Whitehouse High in 2008. I then began taking classes at Tyler Junior College while working full time and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to do something with Mathematics and preferably with kids. After changing my major at least 4 times in 2 years I decided math education was where I was meant to be. I then finished up at TJC with an Associates Degree in Mathematics and began my studies at UT Tyler. After a few semesters of being in several different math classrooms from grade 3 through High School, I decided middle school math is where I wanted to be. I finished up my studies and then graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in Math in December of 2014. I immediately began work as a 6th grade math teacher for Tyler ISD. The school I was working at closed in May after serving students since 1963. I was then offered a job at Whitehouse Junior High, and finally after six years got back to my roots and feel this is where I belong. I am driven to help my students in anyway possible and cannot wait to see what this school year has in store!
