Welcome to my class. This year I will be teaching English IV, AP English IV, and English IV TJC dual credit.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts at Texas Tech, and earned my Master of Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington. I have taught in the Dallas ISD and Tyler ISD, and this will be my third year at Whitehouse High School.
I have taught English IV, AP, and dual credit classes for the past fifteen years, and I really enjoy sharing literature with my students.
Dual Credit English IV classes will focus on world literature, from ancient works to the Renaissance first semester, and from Renaissance to contemporary works in the second. Students will receive college credit for sophomore level World Literature.
Dual Credit English III classes will focus on Composition, and students receive college credit for college level Freshman Composition.
AP English IV is designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement exam, so we will read poetry and prose from the sixteenth century to contemporary works.
This year I will also coach UIL Poetry and Prose. Please contact me if you are interested in participating in one of these events.
As these classes can be quite rigorous, I feel it is important for me to be available often for tutorials. I am available on Wednesdays and Thursdays during A-Lunch, and before or after school if arrangements are made.

Second Period: AP English IV
Third Period: Dual Credit English III
