Whitehouse Independent School District

Hello Stanton-Smith Wildcats! My name is Coach Burgamy and I am super excited to be your physical education teacher! My goal as your coach is to create a fun, safe environment for you to learn skills that will help you to become physically literate and learn to love physical activity. The foundation of our PE program is the state standards called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and our district curriculum called SPARK. I use these two excellent resources, along with many other websites, videos, and literature, to plan dynamic daily lessons that focus on essential age-appropriate motor skills, physical and health literacy, and personal and social responsibility. Please visit the Links section of this page to learn more about our physical education program!
I grew up in Central Texas, but I have lived in the Whitehouse area for sixteen years. I graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and hold a teaching certificate in both Texas and Colorado. I have seventeen years of elementary teaching experience and have taught 5th grade math, science, writing, social studies and physical education.
See you in the gym! Bring your smile, positive attitude, and lace-up shoes. We are going to have a blast together! Go Wildcats!!!!!!!!!!!!!
