Student Services

The Whitehouse ISD Student Services Department is dedicated to supporting the whole child by promoting health, safety, and emotional well-being across all campuses. We work to ensure safe learning environments, provide responsive counseling and behavior support, manage student transfers with care and equity, and coordinate comprehensive health services. Our mission is to remove barriers, strengthen relationships, and help every student feel connected, supported, and ready to learn.

    District Policies

  • Random Drug Testing for Extracurricular Activities

    Students in grades 7 through 12 who choose to participate in school sponsored extracurricular activities are subject to random drug testing.

    The program is designed to promote student safety, accountability, and responsible decision making. Participation requires written consent, and all test results are handled confidentially.

    Safety Screening Procedures

    The District may use trained dogs to screen for concealed prohibited items on school property. These screenings are unannounced and are part of the District’s overall safety practices.

    Trained dogs are not used with students. Students may be asked to leave personal belongings in an area designated for screening. If a dog alerts to an item or area, District officials may conduct a search in accordance with District policy.

  • Whitehouse ISD encourages employees, students, parents, and patrons to resolve concerns through informal conferences at the lowest possible administrative level. This allows for an early and effective resolution. While we hope all issues can be resolved informally, a formal grievance process is available if needed. Even after starting the formal process, you are encouraged to continue seeking an informal resolution.

  • Our Student Mentoring Program connects caring adults with students who benefit from consistent encouragement and positive adult connection during the school year.
    Each mentor is matched with one student.

    • One check in per week.
    • Thirty minutes.
    • Consistent. Reliable. Personal.

    Mentors are not counselors and they are not there to fix problems. They build trust, listen, and show up each week as a steady presence in a student’s life.

    This program offers community members a meaningful way to support the district and invest directly in students. Mentors help strengthen school-community relationships while making a real difference through simple, reliable connection.

    Mentors receive a brief orientation and practical training focused on building relationships, maintaining clear boundaries, and ensuring student safety. All mentors complete a background check before being matched.
