Enroll in Our Schools

We’re excited to welcome your family to our Whitehouse ISD Wildcat community. All student enrollment (Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade) takes place online through Skyward and can be completed on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. All Pre-K registrants must schedule and attend an in-person appointment at their zoned campus before eligibility can be approved.

    New Student PreK/Kindergarten Enrollment

    • Enrollment begins April 7, 2025.
    • For Kindergarten, students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025.
    • For Pre-K, students must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025.
    • Kindergarten enrollment is online only through Skyward Family Access.
    • All PreK registrants must have an in-person appointment with the enrolling campus BEFORE eligibility can be approved.

    Required Documents for Registration

    • Student’s Certified Birth Certificate (Order a certified birth certificate at Texas.gov)
    • Student’s social security card
    • Student’s immunization record
    • Parent’s or Guardian's driver license
    • Proof of income when enrolling for Pre-K or Head Start (including child support and SSI)
    • Proof of residency - Utility bill (Electric, Gas, or Water), Rental/Lease agreement, or property tax statement
    • Legal documents such as divorce decree and/or CPS/foster care paperwork

Only individuals listed as Guardians in Skyward will receive ParentSquare access.   • Verification for returning students for the 2025-2026 school year is now open!

    Returning WISD students should verify their information via Family Access.

    Please ensure that all parent/guardian information is up to date, including a valid email and phone number. Guardian details in Skyward sync with ParentSquare, our district’s school-to-home communication and emergency alert system. Only individuals listed as Guardians in Skyward will have access to ParentSquare accounts.

    Existing WISD Families Enrolling a New Student
    Existing families who need to enroll a new student (kindergarten for example) will need to complete the new student application for that student. Please see instructions under the New Student Registration section.

  • Required Documents for Registration

    For PreKindergarten Students:
    All PreK registrants must have an in-person appointment with the enrolling campus BEFORE eligibility can be approved. Attendance zone and campus contact information is listed at the bottom of this page. 

    • STEP 1: Call to request an in-person appointment starting April 1.
      • In-person appointments, are held at your child's enrolling campus, and are scheduled to determine Pre-K eligibility. 
    • STEP 2: Attend an in-person meeting with your enrolling campus for eligibility verification. 
    • STEP 3: Complete registration forms online ONLY if the campus registrar has approved eligibility.


    Additional Required Documents for PreKindergarten Registration:

    • SNAP or TANF eligibility group number and/or Medicaid Eligibility (if applicable) 


    Eligibility Criteria for Pre-K : Child must be four years old by September 1, and meet one or more of the following specific criteria to qualify:

    • Eligibility for free and reduced lunch program 
    • Eligibility for the English as a Second Language Program
    • Be designated as homeless
    • Be a foster child or have ever been under the care of CPS
    • Child of Active-Duty Military/Armed Forces
    • Child of Military/Armed Forces, who was injured or killed while on active duty
    • Child of a parent this is eligible for the Texas Star Award


    Additional forms for HeadStart:

    • Prior year’s tax return or W-2
    • Child’s current medical and dental exam
    • Proof of health insurance, if applicable

     PreK/Head Start Handbook

    For Kindergarten Students:

    • STEP 1: Enroll your child online (required for every registrant) 
    • STEP 2 (only if needed): Call to request an in-person appointment with your enrolling campus starting April 1. We understand that some may not be able to complete everything online (i.e. - those needing assistance turning in documents virtually).

    NOTE: Before an in-person appointment can be scheduled, parents must start the enrollment process online.

    NOTE: Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1.

     

  • Families with students in grades K-12 who live outside of Whitehouse ISD's district boundaries may apply for transfer to a Whitehouse ISD school. Out-of-district transfers are approved for only one academic year at a time, with recommitment applications receiving priority. Transfer requests will be evaluated on recommitment, current enrollment, growth expectations, teacher assignments, class sizes, and the enrolling student’s attendance and discipline history. Visit Out of District Transfers for transfer guidelines, application, and to schedule a campus tour.

  • Unique living situations include but are not limited to:

    • Families living with other families
    • Temporary living situations (i.e. in a shelter, home, motel, hotel for a temporary time)
    • Homelessness
    • Educational Guardianship 


    For students living in one of these situations, the student's parent and the person with whom the student is living must contact Scott McFadden and complete an Affidavit of Residency and/or the Authorization Agreement for Voluntary Adult Caregiver. The person with whom they live will be required to show proof of residency.

    Acceptable Proof of Residence: 
    In the name of the parent or guardian, or the resident of the district, we require both:

    • Current gas, electricity or water bill 
    • Current Residential rental/lease agreement/tax statement (if owner of property)

    ***Lease information must not be more than 6 months old for annual lease or 30 days old for month to month lease.

    ***The student's parent and the person with whom the student is living must provide a copy of their photo ID. 

    Unacceptable Proof of Residence:

    • Mortgage statement
    • U.S. mail
    • Post office change of address
    • Credit card/bank statements
    • Personal taxes
    • Medical bills
    • Payroll checks
    • Auto insurance policy
    • Any proof older than 30 days

    *Presenting a false record or falsifying records is an offense under Section 37.10, Penal code, and enrollment of the child under false documents subjects the person to liability for tuition or other costs. TEC Sec. 25.002(3)(d).

     *Fraudulent enrollment of a student under false pretenses is an offense and crime under Texas law.

Elementary Attendance Zone Maps are located online, at the Administration Bldg, and at all campuses.

Pre-K and Head Start assignments for students will be based on space and availability. If space is not available at the campus in your attendance zone, final placement will be based on the order that completed applications are received.
