Grievance
Complaints and Concerns
Whitehouse ISD encourages employees, students, parents, and patrons to resolve concerns through informal conferences at the lowest possible administrative level. This allows for an early and effective resolution. While we hope all issues can be resolved informally, a formal grievance process is available if needed. Even after starting the formal process, you are encouraged to continue seeking an informal resolution.
Informal Process
The most direct way to resolve a concern is by speaking with the person directly involved. The majority of issues can be resolved through a simple conversation.
- Start with the person involved: Contact the teacher, coach, or staff member to discuss your concern. Most issues are resolved at this step.
- Contact a campus administrator: If the issue isn't resolved, reach out to an assistant principal or principal. They are there to help facilitate a solution.
- Contact a district administrator: If a campus administrator can't resolve your concern, you may contact the appropriate district office for further assistance.
Formal Grievance Process
If an informal discussion doesn't lead to a satisfactory resolution, you can begin the formal grievance process. This ensures your concern is reviewed thoroughly and fairly, in accordance with all applicable policies and laws.
To start, you must file a written grievance form. You can submit the form electronically or in person. Both online and printable versions are available. You can withdraw a formal complaint at any time.
