Notice of Intent to Apply: 2021-2024 ARP Homeless II: American Rescue Plan Act of 2021

Whitehouse ISD will be applying for the 2021-2024 ARP Homeless II: American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund – Homeless Children and Youth (ARP-HCY)

This is a U.S. Department of Education (USDE) grant awarded through Texas Education Agency (TEA)

Program Description:

The intent and purpose of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) 2021, Homeless II (ARP – Homeless II) funding is to increase local education agencies (LEAs) and education service centers (ESCs) capacity to identify, enroll, and provide wraparound services to address unique need of homeless children and youth due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Allowable Activities: 

  • Promote college and career opportunities
  • STEM focused activities
  • Plan to support identification
  • Wrap around services
  • Learning loss – drop out recovery, summer learning, support for dual credit, supplemental learning activities
  • Family Engagement Activities
  • Educational Technology
  • Supplies and materials – school supplies, glasses, hygiene items, emergency clothing and groceries
  • Allow for students to fully participate in school activities
  • Non-employee travel for conferences
