Notice of Intent to Apply

Whitehouse ISD will be applying for the 2023-2025 School Safety Standards Formula Grant

This grant is a direct result of Governor Abbott’s charge to the Commissioner of Education with regard to rule development to ensure existing school facilities are held to heightened safety standards and will be awarded through Texas Education Agency (TEA)

The Public Comment Period for this grant will end December 16, 2022.

Program Description:

The grant will allow schools to meet the rule requirements of the School Safety Standards Requirements.

Allowable Costs:

Fencing                 

Exterior Doors

Glass Exterior Doors not within a Secured Area

Ground Level Exterior Windows

Silent Panic Alert Technology

Other required Components: two-way radios, door numbering, fire code numbering, master key lock box

Installation of Components

Electronic Door locking systems

School Safety and Security Training and Planning

Award Amount: $228,136.00
