Request to Conduct Research

Whitehouse ISD welcomes educational research that supports student success and district improvement while protecting instructional time, privacy, and school operations.

Request to Conduct Research

Individuals seeking to conduct research involving Whitehouse ISD students, staff, campuses, or nonpublic district data must obtain written district approval before beginning any research activities. University or Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval does not guarantee district approval.

Application Process

Researchers must complete the Request to Conduct Research Form and submit all required supporting documentation, including research plans, instruments, consent materials, and IRB documentation, as applicable.

Complete applications are generally reviewed within 14–21 school business days.

Research Guidelines

To minimize disruptions, Whitehouse ISD generally approves no more than three external research projects per school year, prioritizing research that aligns with district goals and benefits students and staff, including studies conducted by district employees pursuing advanced degrees.

All approved research must protect student and staff privacy, ensure voluntary participation, comply with applicable laws and district policies, and avoid disrupting instruction. Researchers must submit a final report or summary of findings to the district for review before publication.

Whitehouse ISD reserves the right to approve, deny, or discontinue research at its discretion.
